Savings: $900,000 (26% of contract)

Renovation of the former Judson Baptist College totaled more than 120,000 sq. ft. in three buildings. The resulting structures included numerous offices, classrooms, and laboratories. Electrical and mechanical systems were upgraded along with ADA upgrades.

Using extensive value engineering, we brought the project in within budget. It was completed on an extremely tight time schedule—made possible by advance planning and scheduling.

Design reviews and estimate reconciliations

We maintain open and frequent communication with the owner and the design team. As design progresses, we track incremental changes against the estimates and budget, giving key decision-makers control over direction of the project.

Constructability reviews

Taking time up-front to analyze how details will be handled, our pre-construction team makes suggestions that save time and money. These reviews may involve subcontractors with suggestions for alternate products or construction methods.

Value engineering and scheduling

With early involvement in the design, we can evaluate capital outlay and maintenance costs and consider factors such as durability, consistency, and lead time to assist in the best possible product selection.
